Having been given the brief of ‘A Day in the Life of…’ we were all individually asked to write a fictional or factual story about a day in the life of something. The stories were then shuffled and handed back to everyone so that you had someone else’s. My story, broadly, was about someone’s mum being trapped in a deckchair and having to be rescued. A little odd. We were then asked to come up with three phrases which summed up the story in 2-6 words. I chose ‘deckchair rescue’, ‘The fastest assistance around’ and ‘Seeing the funny side of everything’ With these phrases we then had to create a poster that used text, font and image to portray the sentences in an effective way. We were then asked to make mixed media collage’s of the sentences using text and images form magazines. these were then stuck onto an A1 sheet of paper and worked into with other materials. This came out like this…

The VisCom pathway, like all of the pathways before had a lot of interesting stuff that needed to be incorporated into producing a final product. Seeing as i intend to do this sort of thing at University it was pleasing to know that i enjoy doing it and am not completely useless.
